Riley is Five!!!

My sweet little girl is five today.  Sweet Riley Roo- The last five years have been so wonderful having you as my daughter.  You bring me such joy and happiness.  You are so kind, caring, and loving.  You are very tender-hearted but have a heart of gold.  You are so eager to learn, you love to come home and work in your workbooks and call it your "homework."  You amaze me everyday with how smart you are.  You know how to write your first, middle and last name, can read time on a digital clock, are a master on the iphone, can take a shower all by yourself and doing really good washing your hair, you have recently started wanting to do your hair on your own and you love to pick out your own clothes.  The outfit you have on today you picked out all by yourself.  You saw a Justice catalog and asked for the shirt so that was one of your presents today and as soon as you opened it, you went and got dressed.  If I tell you to get dressed you get mad at me and tell me you aren't a baby anymore and don't need me to tell you what to do.  So now I have to phrase things like it's time for bed, what should you do or it's time to get ready for school.  The other day I gave you a plastic fork and you said "mom, I'm not a kid anymore I need a real fork!"  That made me chuckle :) KK then looked at you very seriously and said "if you're not a kid anymore what are you?" and you responded, "A BIG girl!!" Oh how you make me laugh!! 

You are very excited to start kindergarten and were disappointed this morning when you realized that even though you are five you don't get to go until August.  You don't think that this is fair, but are excited that you get to stay at school with KK for a little longer.  You and KK are the best of friends although you two are starting to argue a lot more.  I'm not looking forward to the fights when you two are teenagers!!  I love watching you with Kaylee, you are such a good big sister and always try to take care of her.  She looks up to you, and wants to do everything you do.

You love to play outside and ride your bicycle.  You like to go for walks with me as well.  You also love to jump on the trampoline and play on the swingset.  If the weather is good you want to be outside.  Inside you like to play with barbies, play dress up, play with your dogs and watch movies.  You love the Disney princesses and Rapunzel is your current favorite.  Your favorite movie right now is Grease and you and KK like to pretend that you are Sandy.

I look forward to seeing what the next 5, 10, 15, 20+ years hold for you.  I love you sweet princess!
